Accessibility Statement

Effective date: August 27, 2026 Last updated: August 27, 2026

GoodMedizen Acupuncture and Herbs is committed to making our care, our clinic, and this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not a compliance box for us — it is part of how a clinic does its job. If any part of our website or our office keeps you from getting the care or the information you need, tell us and we will fix it or find another way to get it to you.

Our standard

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and by Washington State law. Our website is built on the Wix platform, which provides accessibility features including keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and adjustable display settings.

We describe this as a commitment rather than a certification. Parts of our site — older pages, embedded third-party tools such as our scheduling system and dispensary platform, and PDFs published before this policy — may not yet fully conform. We are working through them, and we prioritize by what people actually need first.

What we do on this website

  • Text and background colors are chosen and tested for contrast.

  • Images that carry meaning are given alternative text.

  • Headings, lists, and landmarks are structured so screen readers can navigate the page.

  • Interactive elements are reachable by keyboard.

  • Text can be resized in your browser without breaking the layout.

  • Patient education materials are written in plain, complete language rather than clinical shorthand.

Third-party tools

Our online booking, patient portal, payment processing, and dispensary ordering are provided by third parties. We do not control their code and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If a third-party tool is a barrier, do not fight with it — call or text us at (206) 402-3813 and we will book you, take your payment, or place your order directly. Getting you seen matters more than the form.

Physical accessibility of the clinic

Our clinic is located at 509 Olive Way, Suite 1401, Seattle, WA 98101, in the Medical Dental Building.

  • The building is served by elevators to the 14th floor, and our suite is wheelchair accessible.

  • Elevator service in the building is occasionally interrupted for maintenance or repair. If elevator access is essential for your visit, tell us when you book and we will confirm elevator status the day of your appointment and reschedule at no charge if the building cannot get you upstairs.

  • Accessible restrooms are available on our floor.

  • Street parking, nearby garages, and public transit stops are within a short distance. We are happy to send specific directions and drop-off guidance in advance.

  • Treatment tables are height-adjustable, and we can accommodate transfers, mobility aids, service animals, and support people in the treatment room.

Accommodations for your care

Tell us what you need — before your visit or during it. We routinely accommodate:

  • Communication: large-print or emailed versions of any handout, materials read aloud, extra time to ask questions, written summaries of your visit instead of verbal instructions.

  • Interpretation: let us know your preferred language or if you use ASL, and we will arrange interpretation where we can.

  • Sensory needs: dimmed lighting, no music, reduced scent, a quieter time of day.

  • Mobility: assistance with transfers, positioning modifications, seated or side-lying treatment instead of table positions.

  • Cognitive and processing needs: simplified written instructions, appointment reminders in the format that works for you, a support person present.

There is no charge for any of this and no documentation required. Ask.

Documents and printed materials

Our patient handouts are produced as PDFs. If a PDF is not readable by your assistive technology, contact us and we will send you the content in an accessible format — plain text, large print, or read aloud by phone — usually the same day.

Give us feedback

We want to hear about barriers. Accessibility problems are easiest to fix when someone tells us exactly where they hit one.

When you contact us, it helps to include the page address or the part of the office involved, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using — but a plain description is fine too. We aim to respond within two business days and to give you a real answer about what we can fix and when.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Washington State Human Rights Commission or the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. We would rather solve it with you directly, and we will keep working on it either way.

Ongoing work

This statement is reviewed at least annually and updated whenever we make substantial changes to our website or our space. Known items currently on our list: remediating older PDF handouts for screen-reader compatibility, and reviewing legacy pages carried over from our previous site.
