Terms and Conditions
Effective date: August 27, 2026 Last updated: August 27, 2026
Welcome to goodmedizen.com. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website, our online booking and member tools, our membership plans, our loyalty program, and any products or services you purchase from us. The site is owned and operated by GoodMedizen PS Inc., doing business as GoodMedizen Acupuncture and Herbs (“GoodMedizen,” “we,” “us,” “our”), 509 Olive Way, Suite 1401, Seattle, WA 98101.
By using this site, booking an appointment, enrolling in a membership, or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Medical disclaimer — this website is education, not care
The content on this site — articles, condition pages, handouts, program descriptions, downloadable guides, newsletters, and social posts — is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan, and it does not replace individualized care from a licensed provider who knows your history.
-
Using this site, submitting a form, or contacting us does not create a provider-patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you are seen in our clinic and complete intake and consent.
-
Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read here.
-
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not use this site, email, or text to communicate an urgent or emergency concern.
-
Always talk with your prescribing provider before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.
2. Scope of practice
Clinical services are delivered by Washington State–licensed practitioners within the East Asian Medicine Practitioner (EAMP) and applicable scopes of practice. We do not prescribe, adjust, or discontinue prescription medications, and we do not replace primary or specialty medical care. Where a concern falls outside our scope, we will tell you and refer you.
3. Dietary supplements and herbal products
Statements about dietary and herbal supplements on this site have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Individual results vary. Supplements and herbs can interact with medications and are not appropriate for everyone; discuss any product with your practitioner and your prescribing provider before use, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a chronic condition, or scheduled for surgery.
4. Eligibility and account use
You must be at least 18 years old to book online, enroll in a membership, or purchase from this site. Care for minors is arranged directly with the clinic and requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you create an account or member profile, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Appointments, cancellations, and no-shows
Appointments may be requested through our online booking system or by contacting the clinic. A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation from our scheduling system, not when the request is submitted.
-
Cancellation window. Please cancel or reschedule at least 36 hours in advance.
-
Late cancellation and no-show fee. Cancellations made inside the 36-hour window and missed appointments are charged $45 to the payment method on file. That time was held for you and cannot be filled on short notice.
-
Emergencies. Life happens. Tell us what happened and we will use our judgment — genuine emergencies are handled as exceptions, not as a fee.
-
Late arrival. Sessions end at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, we will do what we can in the time remaining and the visit is charged in full.
-
Our cancellations. If we must cancel, we will reschedule you at the earliest available time and no fee applies.
We may require a card on file or a deposit to hold certain appointment types, programs, or extended-time visits.
6. Memberships and recurring billing
Membership plans are billed monthly on a recurring basis and are subject to the rates and inclusions disclosed at enrollment.
-
Month to month. Standard and Premium memberships are month-to-month with no long-term contract. Your payment method is charged automatically on your billing date until you cancel.
-
Functional tier minimum. The Functional membership carries a three-month minimum commitment from the date of first billing, because that is the runway a functional workup needs to produce results. After the third month it continues month-to-month like the other tiers.
-
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time, subject to the Functional tier minimum above. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and your benefits remain active through that date. There is no cancellation fee and we do not prorate partial months.
-
Included visits. Included visits, where a plan provides them, are for functional medicine visits at the plan’s stated cadence. They are not acupuncture visits, they do not roll over from period to period, they expire at the end of the period in which they are issued, they have no cash value, and they are non-transferable.
-
Discounts and benefits. Membership discounts and benefits apply only while your membership is active and current. They are not retroactive and cannot be applied to prior purchases.
-
Exclusions. Certain services and products are excluded from membership discounts, including microneedling and other flat-rate services identified at the time of booking.
-
Quarterly and annual benefits are use-it-or-lose-it within their stated period and cannot be carried forward.
-
Changes. Requests to pause, downgrade, or upgrade must be made in writing before your billing date. We may change membership pricing, structure, or inclusions with at least 30 days’ notice to active members; changes take effect at your next renewal.
-
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend membership benefits until the balance is resolved and may retry the charge. Accounts left unpaid for 60 days may be cancelled and any outstanding balance referred for collection.
7. Loyalty and rewards program
Participation in our loyalty program is a courtesy, not a purchase. Points are earned and redeemed at the rates published on our loyalty page, which we may update from time to time.
Points and rewards have no cash value, are not property, and cannot be sold, transferred, gifted, or combined between accounts.
Points expire after twelve months of account inactivity. Any activity that earns or redeems points resets the clock; if an account goes twelve consecutive months without activity, the full point balance is forfeited. We may adjust point values, change the expiration period, or modify, suspend, or discontinue the program at any time, with notice to members for material changes. We may correct crediting errors at any time. Fraudulent or abusive activity — including check-ins without an actual visit, duplicate accounts, or manipulation of the points system — will result in forfeiture of points and may result in removal from the program.
8. Products, dispensary, and returns
Product descriptions, availability, and pricing are subject to change without notice, and we reserve the right to correct errors, limit quantities, or decline or cancel an order.
All supplement, herbal, and apothecary sales are final. We are a small clinic and we carry professional-grade products chosen for their quality control, which is precisely why this policy works: if something is wrong with a product — a rancid oil, a compromised seal, a bad batch, a manufacturing defect — tell us. We will evaluate it and pursue a replacement or credit through the manufacturer, and we will make you whole to the extent the manufacturer’s quality-control process allows. Contact us within 7 days of purchase or delivery so we can document it while the manufacturer’s window is still open.
We cannot accept returns or issue refunds for change of mind, a product you decided not to take, a flavor or texture you disliked, or an item purchased in error. Custom and practitioner-compounded herbal formulas are final sale in all cases.
Third-party dispensaries. Some products are fulfilled through third-party platforms. Those orders are governed by that provider’s own terms, shipping, and return policies, and payment is made to that provider. We may receive compensation on products dispensed through such platforms; where that applies, it is disclosed.
9. Pricing, payment, and insurance
All prices are in U.S. dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is due at the time of service or purchase.
-
Payments are processed by third-party processors and our practice-management system. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
-
You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for services rendered, membership dues, packages, products, and any applicable cancellation or no-show fees.
-
Insurance. We are preferred, in-network providers for most major insurance plans and bill your insurer directly where we are contracted. We run a benefit check before your first visit and give you an estimate of your expected out-of-pocket cost. Benefit checks reflect the information your insurer gives us and are an estimate, not a guarantee of payment. You are responsible for any deductible, copay, coinsurance, non-covered service, or balance your plan does not pay. Where we are out of network, we can provide a superbill for you to submit; reimbursement is determined by your plan.
-
HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible services and products, subject to your plan administrator’s rules.
-
Packages and prepaid care plans are non-transferable, must be used within the period stated at purchase, and are non-refundable once services have begun except as required by law.
-
Gift certificates do not expire and are not redeemable for cash, consistent with Washington law (RCW 19.240).
-
Returned payments and chargebacks may incur a fee of $25.
10. Privacy, protected health information, and communications
Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Protected health information created in the course of your care is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA, which is provided at intake and available on request. The Notice of Privacy Practices controls over these Terms with respect to protected health information.
By providing your email address or mobile number, you consent to receive appointment confirmations, reminders, care-related messages, and — where you have opted in — marketing messages from us. Email and text messaging are not fully secure channels. Do not send sensitive health details, and never send urgent or emergency information, by email, text, web form, or social media. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or replying STOP; transactional messages about your appointments and account will continue. Message and data rates may apply.
11. Telehealth
Where offered, telehealth consultations are available only to patients physically located in Washington State at the time of the visit, and are subject to a separate telehealth consent. Telehealth is not appropriate for every concern, and we may require an in-person visit. Technology failures, connection quality, and the privacy of your own location and device are your responsibility.
12. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, patient handouts, program materials, protocols, graphics, photographs, logos, wordmarks, page design, and the compilation of all of it — is owned by GoodMedizen PS Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. “GoodMedizen” and our logos and marks are our trademarks and may not be used without our prior written permission.
You may view, download, and print materials from this site for your own personal, non-commercial use in connection with your care. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, adapt, or use our content for commercial purposes — including clinical, teaching, or practice-building use by other practitioners or businesses — without our prior written consent.
13. Reviews, testimonials, and content you submit
Any review, comment, photograph, question, or other material you submit to us or post on our pages is submitted voluntarily and non-confidentially. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that material in connection with our services, and you represent that you have the right to grant it. We publish testimonials only from real patients with documented permission. Testimonials describe one person’s experience and are not a promise or prediction of results. We may remove any submitted content at our discretion.
14. Third-party links and services
This site links to and integrates third-party services, including our scheduling system, payment processors, dispensary platforms, and other websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, practices, availability, or policies of those third parties. Your use of them is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
15. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use this site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data; interfere with the operation or security of the site; scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content; upload malicious code; impersonate another person; or use the site or its content to build a competing service.
16. Availability, changes, and accuracy
We work to keep the site accurate and current, but content may contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information, and clinical understanding changes over time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site, our services, our programs, or our pricing at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
17. Accessibility
We are committed to making this site usable for everyone. If you encounter a barrier to access, contact us at office@goodmedizen.com or (206) 402-3813 and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need in an accessible way.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be secure, uninterrupted, or free of errors or harmful components. This section does not limit any warranty or obligation that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law, and it does not apply to the standard of care owed to you as a patient in our clinic.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GoodMedizen PS Inc. and its owners, practitioners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of this website or its content — including any decision you make based on educational content published here — whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to this website and its content will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the specific product or online service giving rise to the claim in the three months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for professional negligence in the delivery of clinical care, for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under Washington law.
20. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoodMedizen PS Inc. and its owners, practitioners, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
21. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at office@goodmedizen.com and give us 30 days to resolve the matter informally. Most things end here.
Venue. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of this site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from bringing an individual claim in small claims court.
Claims for injury resulting from health care remain governed by Washington’s health care claim statutes (Chapter 7.70 RCW), including its mandatory mediation requirement.
22. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Notice of Privacy Practices, and any clinical consent or membership agreement you sign, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding this website. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes to membership terms will be communicated to active members before they take effect. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
