Nausea and vomiting have some of the strongest evidence of any acupuncture application. The point Pericardium 6 (PC6, or Neiguan) — located on the inner wrist — has been validated in hundreds of clinical trials for nausea across multiple causes, including post-operative nausea, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), morning sickness in pregnancy, and motion sickness. It is now recommended in major anesthesiology guidelines as an adjunct for post-operative nausea.
Beyond PC6, a full acupuncture treatment addresses the digestive system's underlying dysfunction, reducing the hypermotility or stasis driving the nausea and supporting the nervous system's regulation of the gut-brain axis.
