Acupuncture for Back Pain

Back pain, and neck pain are probably the two most common types of pain, but we also see a lot of shoulder pain, elbow pain, hip pain, ankle pain, pelvic pain, headaches, and migraines.. well, you get the picture..

We work with a lot of different types of pain!

So, what do we do?

We do a thorough health history intake and examinations to find out what is causing your pain, and to see if there are any "weak links" in your body that may have predisposed you to this ailment or that could prevent you from proper recovery.

Our treatments and techniques vary by patient and condition, but could include:

Acupuncture: insertion of tiny, filiform needles in specific locations that activate functional changes in the body like release of natural pain killers such as endorphins and dynorphins, the increase of blood circulation, reduction of inflammation, and many more!

Specific, therapeutic massage and cupping to break up adhesions and relax muscles.

We use cold laser, stim therapy, functional nutrition, and many other techniques and modalities that would be tailored to your specific condition.

When someone comes in for Low Back Pain, I'll first determine what is causing the pain.

Is it a muscle strain?

Sciatica?

A Herniated Disc?

Piriformis Syndrome?

Something else?

Now, all of these conditions can be effectively treated at GoodMedizen, but your specific condition, history, constitution, and other factors will help us to determine what techniques will give you the best, fastest, and most complete results.

Our treatments often bring relief to patients who haven't had treatment success in the past, so if you are suffering from back pain, or any other type of pain, I encourage you to come in for one of our "Discovery Sessions" and see how we can help you to heal and live pain free!

According to WebMD, “Nearly 8 out of every 10 people will have low back pain at some point in life. Back pain is one of the top reasons people seek medical treatment. It is also the No. 1 reported reason for seeking acupuncture. The good news is chronic low back pain is one of the conditions that research suggests acupuncture may be an effective tool for treating.

One recent review of 22 acupuncture studies showed that it provided short-term relief from chronic back pain.”

It also goes on to say that, “acupuncture has fewer adverse side effects than many of the standard treatments for back pain.
